English Bridle Leather Specifications

Most of Rockwood's products are available in a wide variety of architectural finishes. The photographs generally show only one finish for aesthetic reasons, but all traditional architectural finishes are available. The base metals for English Bridle Leather pulls are aluminum, stainless steel, brass or bronze.

Finest English Bridle Leather

Rockwood uses Bridle leather produced by J & E Sedgwick & Co., Ltd., Walsall, England. Founded in 1900, Sedgwick is renowned for its high quality leather products. Their 8-ounce hand-colored vegetable tanned English Bridle leather enjoys the reputation of being the finest in the world; you can be assured of a beautiful, durable leather door pull.

Leather Maintenance

English Bridle Leather leaves the Rockwood factory with a coat of Sedgwick Leathercare Product, a mixture of natural oils, fats and beeswax. Clean the leather as necessary with a damp cloth and allow to dry. Apply a light coat of leather care product, allow to dry and buff with a soft cloth. We recommend periodic application of a good leather conditioner such as Mermac Mink Oil. Frequency of maintenance depends on exposure to weather and wear. Mermac will darken the leather about the same as a drop of water. Test a small spot prior to using to verify the slight color change that naturally occurs is appealing.

Rockwood Door Pulls – Mounting Types

Rockwood mounting systems firmly attach the pull to the door and are guaranteed for the life of the door. Choose from thrubolt, back-to-back or concealed mountings for wood, metal and glass doors.

Please note the following:

• Y base plates are recommended on wood or glass doors to make a stable and durable mounting.

• Heavy Duty (HD) mounting features hex drive for positive tightening and large overall size for superior strength. (Recommended for high frequency and rough service openings.)

Options:

• Over 96" available on select finishes
• For optional mid-post, suffix the product number with "MP" (example: RM6020MP)

• Maximum leather length is 72"
• Leather thickness is approximately 1/8"

General Warranty: Rockwood Manufacturing Company warrants that its products when properly delivered, installed and maintained, under normal use and service conditions, will be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of one year from the date of delivery. Because of variations in atmospheric and climatic conditions, Rockwood does not warrant that its products will maintain a “like new” appearance for any length of time, so this warranty does not extend to the appearance of Rockwood’s products. Rockwood shall have no responsibility other than the repair or replacement of defective products.
