Series 88 Exit Device Specifications

Exit devices are a critical part of a door opening or access system. The
cross bar style of exit device is primarily used in architectural applications. It is available in both wide and narrow stile, and is ideal for environments that demand a traditional looking device with the durability to withstand rugged applications.

Cross bar exit devices are mounted on the egress side of the door. They can be mounted for rim, mortise, or concealed vertical applications.

For all types of single and double doors with mullion, UL listed for accident hazard installations. Covers stock hollow metal doors with 86 or 161* cutouts.

Von Duprin created the first panic exit bar in response to the Iriqouis Theatre Fire of 1903 in Chicago. The fire caused the highest loss of life in history for a single building fire, taking a total of 602 lives in 20 minutes.
